We collect your Google account email address, name, and profile picture when you sign in. We also store the recipes, brew logs, and fermentation readings you create in the app, along with any feedback you submit.
Your data is used solely to provide the FerMentor service — personalising your brewing experience, storing your recipes and brew logs, and improving AI responses. We do not sell your data to third parties.
FerMentor uses the Anthropic Claude API to power its AI features. When you send a message, your message content and relevant brewing context (recipe details, brew log data) are sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data. We do not send your name, email, or account details to Anthropic.
We use PostHog for anonymous, cookieless usage analytics and Sentry for error monitoring. No cookies are set and no consent banner is required. Analytics data cannot be linked back to you personally.
Your data is retained for as long as you have an account. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen, which permanently removes all your data from our systems.
Under POPIA (South Africa) and GDPR (EU), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, delete your account in Settings or contact us at the address below.
